I am honored to serve as the principal at South Tamarind Elementary. Our mission, "Strive to Achieve Remarkable Success," drives our STAR Team of educators to create engaging and innovative learning experiences that support every student in achieving success. We focus on both academic excellence and character development, emphasizing traits such as Trustworthiness, Responsibility, Respect, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. These core values guide our interactions and shape our school culture. Our goal is to nurture students into compassionate, curious, and confident individuals who make positive contributions to their community.
It takes a team to ensure our STARs are successful and we are thankful each of you is part of our TEAM. Clarice M. Riggio-Ocampo

Clarice M. Riggio-Ocampo, M.Ed Assistant Principal
Mrs. Ocampo was born in Rhinebeck, New York and grew up in New York. She attended schools (K-12) in New York and moved to California in 2001. She received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, Magna Cum Laude from the University of La Verne, her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and obtained a Masters in Education from the University of La Verne as well. Mrs. Ocampo went on to obtain an Administrative Credential and a second Master's in Educational Administration from Cal State University San Bernardino.
Mrs. Ocampo has taught in Azusa and Garvey school districts prior to Fontana. Prior to this position, she has taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades, has been an English Language Learner Interventionist (K-6), an Instructional Support Teacher (IST) (K-5), and a Common Core Teacher on Assignment (TOA) (TK-5).
